My name is Marli Caplan and I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. I am currently a junior at Indiana University studying Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management. Within this major, my main interests are event planning and production. I am a very active person and enjoy playing sports, doing yoga, and running. Also, I love traveling and plan on going to a different city almost every weekend during my time in Barcelona. Taking this leap and coming to Barcelona has been a big transition, but my friends who I am traveling with have helped make this transition more comfortable. I am looking forward to all the adventures I will embark on in Barcelona and learning about the culture.

Here is a picture of me during my first weekend in Barcelona. My friends and I took a cable car from the beach to Montjuic. Once we arrive to this mountain, there was a beautiful lookout where we could see the entire city of Barcelona.
Sports is a huge part of my family and brings us together. I have two brother who love sports and this has forced me to love them also. I am from Baltimore and this is home to the Ravens. Whenever I am home, my brothers and I either go to the Ravens games or host football parties at our house.

Last summer, I interned in Tel-Aviv for four months. I absolutely loved the city and culture of Tel-Aviv, but found my internship boring. My friend / coworker and I decided to make a dog Instagram account in order to help entertain us during our internship. Together, we would post cute pictures of dogs we found on the streets of Tel-Aviv. Last semester, my friend studied abroad in Paris and continued to post dog pictures and changed the account name to ‘puppies of paris’. Now that I am abroad in Barcelona, I plan to continue posting to the account and to change the name to ‘Barcelona Barks’.

At Indiana University, I am in a sorority called Alpha Epsilon Phi. Attached is a Facebook alumnae group where prior members post life updates, meet ups, and job opportunities.
